Safety routines

  • Drop-off and pickup

Each child is handed over in person, at the door, and goes home only with the adults on your list. We ask for ID from anyone we don't know.

  • One adult, one group

Amela is with the children all day, so you always know who is looking after your child. If she is ill, she tells families early, and the group is cared for by a substitute you have met.

  • Allergies

Tell us about any allergy at the tour. Once you enroll, we ask again in private, and the plan is written down in the kitchen.

  • Naps

Each child has a cot of their own, with a sheet and nothing else in it, in the quiet room.

  • Clean hands

Hands are washed when children arrive, before every meal and after play outside.

  • The kitchen

Lunch and snacks are cooked here, and what goes into them follows what your family eats.

Families' questions

What does it mean that the home is certified?

That the Division of Regulated Child Care, part of Kentucky's Cabinet for Health and Family Services, has certified this home to care for a group of children. The certificate number is at the bottom of every page.

How many children are here at once?

Up to 6 children, ages 12 months to 5 years, with 1 adult. The safety page shows the same.

Can my child eat what our family eats?

Tell Amela at the tour what your family eats and doesn't eat, and she writes it down. A few practices, such as no pork, lard or gelatin, apply to the whole house.

How does tuition work?

It depends on your child's age and the schedule. Amela gives you the figures in writing at the tour.

Do you speak Bosnian?

Yes. Amela speaks Bosnian and English with families and with the children, and you can write to us in either.

How do I join the waitlist?

Write or call us with your child's age and when you hope to start. When a place opens, we offer it in the order families joined.
