A day here
How a child spends the day
Each part of the day follows the children.
- 01Early morning
Step 1: Arrival
Each child arrives with a parent at the door. There is time for a hug, a coat on its hook and slippers.
- 02Mid-morning
Step 2: Play at the table
Clay, paint, blocks and books at the kitchen table and on the rug. Everyone joins in at their own pace.
- 03Around noon
Step 3: Lunch
A hot lunch cooked in the kitchen, eaten together at the table. Water is on the table all day.
- 04After lunch
Step 4: Rest
Each child has a cot of their own in the quiet room. Anyone who doesn't sleep looks at books until the others wake.
- 05Afternoon
Step 5: The yard
Out to the fenced yard in every season, with hats in summer and boots in the rain. In spring the children plant, and in summer they water.
- 06End of the day
Step 6: Pickup
Each child is handed over in person. Amela tells you how the day went and what they ate.
Out in the yard

Fresh air most days
The yard is fenced, with a path for the tricycles, a sandbox, a low slide and a garden bed the children help with. On wet days they go out in rain boots, and on cold days in a warm layer.
